FAQ

Do you have wheelchair accessible vehicles (WAV) for airport transfers?+

We can supply a wheelchair-accessible vehicle (WAV) on request — a side-loading or rear-loading van with a powered ramp, securing tracks for the wheelchair and seat-belted accompanying seats. Book at least 48 hours in advance so we can confirm availability and match the right vehicle to your chair dimensions.

What if the passenger can transfer to a normal seat?+

For passengers who can transfer from wheelchair to a car seat — we use a standard saloon, estate, or MPV depending on group size. The driver helps with transfer, stows the folded wheelchair in the boot at no extra charge, and handles luggage at both ends.

How early should I book a WAV transfer?+

For a guaranteed wheelchair-accessible vehicle we recommend booking at least 48 hours ahead. Same-day WAV requests are sometimes possible but cannot be guaranteed — the WAV fleet is limited and routinely pre-booked. For a peak travel day (Christmas, New Year, summer Saturdays) book 1–2 weeks ahead.

How much does a wheelchair accessible transfer cost?+

WAV transfers are quoted on request — a typical Heathrow → central London WAV is comparable to an MPV-6 fare (around £85–110 depending on destination), with a small specialist-vehicle uplift. Heathrow → Southampton WAV is around £200–240. The price is fixed at booking; no surge, no mobility-aid surcharge.

Do you charge for stowing a wheelchair?+

No — folded manual or powered wheelchairs are stowed free of charge in any vehicle class. Same applies to walking frames, rollators, walking sticks and crutches. We never charge per item for mobility aids.

Will the driver help with luggage and mobility transfer?+

Yes — driver assists from the baggage carousel to the vehicle, helps with transfer between wheelchair and seat where the passenger consents to assistance, and helps the wheelchair in/out of the boot. For passengers travelling with a personal carer the carer rides free in the same vehicle.

Do you provide meet & greet inside Heathrow arrivals for wheelchair users?+

Yes — meet & greet inside the arrivals hall is included free of charge for every airport transfer including WAV bookings. The driver waits in arrivals with a name board and walks with you (or matches your pace) to the vehicle. Free flight tracking means the driver auto-adjusts the pickup time for delays.

Are your drivers trained for passengers with mobility or sensory needs?+

All our drivers are DBS-checked, licensed UK private-hire drivers and complete disability-awareness familiarisation as part of operator induction. For passengers with specific needs (autism / sensory sensitivity / dementia / visual impairment) tell us at booking and we will match a driver with relevant experience.
